According to the law, taxi without bonding with any taxi company is not allowed to carry you (unless it's free [=laughing] ).
In Malaysia, you have to just get used to it. If you are satisfied with the fares he offered you, take it, or else leave it.
Some old taxi uncles are nice and would probably give you a good fares, you may just take it and you won't be sued by taking such taxi. So, have fun in Malaysia. [=:D]

I am an international student at multimedia university at cyberjaya, there is a taxi stand in front of our university which is used by a group of taxi drivers who newer use the taxi meter nor these fares and if we request such a thing they will laugh at us or some of them will become very angry and start to shout at us, last time when I asked them how they can do so, they answered because we are retired from the taxi company and right now we are not working for the company so this laws wont imply on us and we can use the fair that we are telling.
right now I want too ask if this excuse is true based on malaysian laws or not?
