PETRONAS Education Sponsorship

Among all of the other candidates, thinking that you are the best of the best? Also wondering for which sponsorship to be applied so that your excellent result is made good use to the extend of as worthiness as possible? You just feel like do not want to waste it, your Sijil Pelajaran Malaysia (SPM) result, because you have done very well, which you scored with flying colors, outstanding. You hesitate, because there are too many choices available, well then, if that is the case, try to consider the PETRONAS Education Sponsorship, not a big deal to spend some time and do some research on it, if results that it suits you, then give it a try, one of the most demanding education sponsorships of all time in Malaysia. It consists of 3 types of sponsorships:

Foreign University Sponsorship

For students to pursue overseas degree courses in Engineering, Applied Science, Accountancy, Business Administration, Finance and Economics. Applied as well on branch campuses (of that  particular foreign university) in Malaysia.

Eligibility
Based on merit that includes excellent Sijil Pelajaran Malaysia (SPM) result.
Successful Applicant
For foreign university sponsorship programs, sponsored students are required to complete a 18-24 month pre-university program (A-Levels / International Baccalaureate) in Malaysia and must obtain outstanding results to qualify for entry into a foreign university. 

Whereas students pursuing foreign university sponsorship programs in a Malaysian branch campus are required to complete a 12-18 month Foundation Program in the campus before advancing to undergraduate studies.

Malaysian University Sponsorship

For students who are studying in Malaysian public universities, while at the same time pursuing undergraduate courses in Engineering, Applied Science, Accountancy, Economics and Information Technology.

Universiti Teknologi PETRONAS (UTP) Sponsorship

For students to pursue degree courses in Engineering and Information Technology at Universiti Teknologi PETRONAS (UTP).

Bachelor of Technology (Honours)
– Petroleum Geoscience

Eligibility
Based on merit that includes excellent Sijil Pelajaran Malaysia (SPM) result.
Successful Applicant
Students are required to complete a 12 months Foundation Program at Universiti Teknologi PETRONAS (UTP) before advancing to undergraduate studies.

How to Apply

Some “tips” that may come in handy, for those who are interested:

  • Application is based on online application, can be done at PETRONAS Education Sponsorship Online Application, mostly will be opened soon after the releasing of SPM results, for a specific time period only.
  • Visiting to PETRONAS Education Sponsorship Webpages is strongly encouraged, so that to acknowledge the latest information such as up-to-date eligible criteria, sponsored programs and the opening/closing date of online application.
  • Shortlisted candidates will be required to participate in the PETRONAS EduQuest Camp for final selection.
